Save Ocean City is a charitable nonprofit dedicated to protecting our coastline. As an independent, non-partisan, all-volunteer group, we represent the residents, homeowners, business owners, and fishermen of Ocean City, Maryland.

Our mission is to educate the community about the harmful effects of offshore wind turbines and prevent the industrial exploitation of our coastal and marine ecosystems. We stand united against any threats, including oil and gas exploration, drilling, mining, and offshore wind development.

​Habitat Disruption:
During construction and operation, offshore wind farms can destroy and unsettle marine habitats. The disturbances can be devastating, leading to countless marine animal deaths.

Underwater Noise:
The construction and operation of wind turbines generate underwater noise. This noise can negatively affect marine mammals, large fish, birds, and bats.

Altered Ecosystems:
Wind turbine substructures introduce hard surfaces that become rapidly colonized by marine organisms. This alters biodiversity within the local ecosystem.
